Colorado Rancher
|
Lauren MacInnes’s life has been up in the air for over a year—in a very different way from her flying days. The former fighter pilot is completely focused on her teen daughter after a devastating accident. An equine therapy program for children of veterans in Colorado offers new hope. And Lauren would give anything to see Julie smile again.
Rancher Reese Howard fascinates Lauren with his passion for helping wounded children and wild mustangs. He’s the first man to stir her interest since losing her husband. The gruff rancher is also her complete opposite—dedicated to the land, while Lauren longs to fly again. Julie still comes first, but is it time for Lauren to find happiness of her own…even love? Life as a traveling physical therapist suits former army medic Ross Taylor. Two weeks in Covenant Falls, Colorado, helping out at an equine therapy program won’t change his desire for freedom. So why does it feel like the whole town is trying to get him to stay—from the veterans at New Beginnings Ranch to the scruffy little dog who adopts him? And then there’s Susan Wall, the beautiful innkeeper he can’t stop thinking about.
For Susan, Covenant Falls is home, a safe place. Falling for a wandering man is a bad idea, no matter how much she’s drawn to him. But Ross wandered into her town. If he needs what she’s found here, she’ll try to help him find it, too…including love. |

Malice in Memphis Featured in CA Novel: Ghost Stories Malice in Memphis was recently spotlighted in the Memphis Commercial Appeal announcing the publication of the second anthology. What do get when you put a group of writers together at a dinner table? If it were Malice in Memphis, a local mystery writers group, the answer would unarguably be, “criminal minds.” Each writer brings their own unique style to the table and consists of approximately 25 members, men and women, from across the Mid-South. Nine members of the Malice crew gathered at Book Stop Plus in Bartlett on Feb. 25 for book signings. Nearly every writer in the group, if not all, are published authors. Many have several books and recognizable names. More than half the group are responsible for a collaboration of three Malice in Memphis Anthologies published by Dark Oak Press. Book one, “Malice in Memphis: Bluff City Mysteries,” is filled with short mystery stories. Book two, “Malice in Memphis: Ghost Stories,” features short ghost stories. In both books, each story is written by a MIM mystery writer. >>Read the story |
